A cosy brand new apartment
Positiv: The apartment is amazing! it's very new and we really enjoyed staying here. It's private and quiet, with a little terrace out front. The kitchen, which is stocked with utensils and equipment, was so much more capable than we had anticipated, there is even a dishwasher. Sabrina very kindly left us little things like some dishwasher tablets, cleaning bits, coffee with filters, very nice touches. The tv is also huge and new, really nice to have. The bathroom is massive too, with a big walk-in shower and even a rack where we could hang some clothes and gear to dry. Sabrina has excellent english so communicating was easy and when we arrived Sabrina's dad actually collected us from the train station and drove us the short drive up to the place, it would have been walkable if we had to but with big bags we were thankful for the lift, he had no english but that was zero issue, a gem of a man.
Negativ: It must be noted that the location of the apartment is on quite a steep hill, somewhat on the edge of the town too - at the bottom of the hill is a ski lift but it only takes you to a much smaller ski area on one unconnected side of the resort - it is still absolutely worth skiing up there, even a hidden gem of sorts, but you must walk or bus, or from the apartment walk then bus, to the other side of the town in order to access the much bigger ski area. There is a 'Ring-bus' that runs from the closer Hornbahn lift to the main Hahnenkamm lift. We walked up and down this hill multiple times every day, every time we went skiing, every time we went to the town in the evening or to a shop and it really got annoying. A particular issue for us was that we had our own gear, skis and boots, so when going skiing we would walk this hill home in boots and carrying skis, if we went again we would pay to store gear at one of the rentals but even still the ski area is so spread out we'd have to opt for one side or another. There wasn't another soul to be seen anywhere carrying their skis around like us, it was somewhat bizarre for a ski resort actually. It is also worth noting shops in the centre of the town are not good either, they either lack any reasonable stock or have terrible opening hours and close on Sundays, so to get supplies for the apartment you'll have to make the much longer walk to one of the big shops on the edge of the town.
